Statement of Faith

THE WORD OF GOD

We believe that the Bible, all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Word and revelation of God, inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed in its original manuscripts and is so preserved by God that it is the only authoritative standard of faith and practice. (Ps. 19:7-11; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:16-21)

THE TRINITY

We believe in the one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons, equal in every divine perfection: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Heb. 1:1-2; 1 John 5:1-8)

GOD THE FATHER

We believe in God the Father, an infinite personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love, who is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. (Gen. 1:1; Is. 45:18; John 4:24; Eph. 1:3-6; 1 Pet. 1:15-16)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the Virgin birth and deity of Jesus Christ and that He is God Incarnate for Whom all things were created, and that He lived a sinless life on earth. (Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1-14; Heb. 4:15)

We believe in the substitutionary atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that He suffered and died for sinners. (Heb. 2:9; John 3:1-18, 6:44-69)

We believe in the physical resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His bodily ascension into the heavens and in His current presence at the right hand of God as our Mediator, Priest, and Advocate. (Acts 3:12-26; John 20; Heb. 9:24; 1 Cor. 15:12-28)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is the infallible interpreter of the infallible Bible. We believe He baptizes, seals, indwells, fills, and gives spiritual gifts to all believers. (Rom. 8:14-27; 1 Cor. 12:11-13; Eph. 1:13)

sin and salvation

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. (Ezek. 18:4; Rom. 3:9-20, 6:23)

We believe sin is an attitude of indifference toward God, which is characterized by an active or passive rebellion.  We believe that God saves those who repent of their sins and place trust in Jesus Christ as Savior.  We believe that a believer cannot lose his salvation. (John 10:28; Rom. 8:35-39; Eph. 2:8-9)

We believe all believers should be careful to maintain good works and to walk according to the Spirit in keeping with their salvation. (Eph. 2:8-10; Tit. 2:1-5, 3:1-11; 1 Pet. 1:14-16)

christian conduct

We believe that the church consists of all those who, through saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, are united together in the Body of Christ. (Eph. 1:22-23, 5:25-27; 1 Cor. 12:12-27; Rom. 12:4-5)

We believe that Jesus Christ established the Lord’s Supper and water baptism as ordinances for the church to observe.  They are not means of salvation. (Matt. 28:19; 1 Cor. 11:23-26; Acts 18:8; Rom. 6:3-5)

the church

We believe in the Great Evangelistic Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” (Matt. 28:16-20; Acts 1:8)

the great commission

We believe that heaven is a place for eternal blessedness and that hell is a place of eternal suffering. (2 Cor. 5:1-10; Rev. 20:1-15, 21, 22)

Heaven and hell

We believe in the personal, premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His saints, and with His saints, to reign a thousand years over the earth. (1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:50-55; Rev. 19:19-20, 20:1-6)
